The Man of the Season---------------------------Well Almost
It’s December 10th, Christmastime in Chicago and that means lights, a festive atmosphere, cold climate, and on this very special occasion, snow!
People waited for hours outside of a popular bookstore to get a glimpse of the man of the hour. Outside, inside, every level, every fellow; standing sitting and anticipating his arrival.
Then with a burst of fire into the air, and horse drawn carriage cleverly escorted by “Chicago’s Finest” they announced his arrival. Cheers, screams, jumps for joy, about every gallant emotion you can muster was expressing itself. And then, he stepped out.
Decked out in black, yes, black he walked into a roaring crowd. He loved the attention and they loved giving it to him. As for me, I loved seeing it perched atop my seat on the third floor looking out the window.
Finally! The crowd of over 500 dedicated fans was about to see the man they’d been waiting for; Dennis Rodman! Well, whom did you think I was talking about? You know how we do it in Chicago, and you know me, I probably know how to do it best, get right in the thick of things for my loyal supporters of All About Chicago.
You had to be there in order to appreciate his (I mean her) majesty. Rodman stood tall with his skin tight, front exposed “Elvira” type dress, all glittered down with silver sparkles amid his many tattoos. And so I began my interview with D-Rod, Rodman, or as he’s going these days, D-Gothic.

AAC: Dennis, you dedicated this book to your children, how many do you have?
DR: Four
AAC: What is the inspiration behind the Gothic look?
DR: It’s something I like to do. It’s like a mortician. It’s my “Mortician Geisha” look.
AAC: You acknowledge Michael Jordan in your book saying “If there was a Holy Bible in sports written by Michael Jordan, even I would follow it religiously.” What do you admire about Michael?
DR: His self-worth; his dedication to the game and desire to win.
AAC: Dennis, this is your third book, any plans for another one?
DR: Yes, two more, one a table talk and another one all pictures.
AAC: Will they both be autobiographical?
DR: Of course.
AAC: Thank you Dennis, I appreciate the time and interview.
DR: You’re welcome.
I couldn’t monopolize all of his time (although I may have been close
to doing so). After all, he was there to sign his latest book entitled:
I Should Be Dead By Now, of which I do
have a personalized signed copy.
You have to get your hands on a copy of this book. It’s an easy read and has some pretty good pictures too. Don’t worry, I’ll keep you posted when D-Rod’s next book comes out.
